The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been fully revealed and the new SUV, riding on the Mercedes ML chassis, takes Jeep in an entirely different and upscale direction.
In addition to the sculpted new looks, the 2011 Grand Cherokee gets a Quadra Lift air suspension capable of lifting the SUV from a low 4.5 inches clearance in parking mode to a rock-topping 11.1 inches ground clearance. Power will come from the baseline 3.6 liter V6 with about 280 HP or a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 360 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque. It also gets adaptive cruise control, a park-assist system and all the other requisite electronic tomfoolery required in new cars. That pretty body work is going to look great scraping along the boulders on the Rubicon. That’s what Jeep owners do, right?
